Spicy Moon Dan Dan Noodle Kit Packaging
Vibrant packaging for Spicy Moon's Dan Dan Noodle Kit: Chinese-inspired visual cues, playful illustration, and bold typography on a pink-and-red box, through to the print-ready structural dieline.
Commissioned client work · Designed by Gul E Lala Khan for Spicy Moon, a vegan Szechuan restaurant in New York, US

about this project
Spicy Moon opened in 2019 as America's first vegan Szechuan restaurant; the Dan Dan Noodle Kit brings its signature dish from the kitchen to the table with sesame paste, sweet soy sauce, vegan chili oil, and sliced noodles in one box.
A vibrant packaging system designed to bring together Chinese-inspired visual cues, playful illustration, and bold typography into one memorable box experience.
The packaging was designed to feel young, energetic, and instantly recognizable while maintaining a strong connection to its Chinese-inspired roots.
Every element works as one cohesive visual language: large, expressive lettering for immediate shelf impact; a pink, red, and warm neutral palette; the oversized noodle illustration as the hero visual; and Chinese-inspired characters, badges, and skyline graphics adding depth without overwhelming the composition.
Delivery included the full structural dieline with per-component nutrition panels, ready for print.
